Installation Information for the Deck-Max™ Proprietary Complete Decking Solutions

Installing the Deck-MaxTM timber decking system involves a few simple decisions that you will be asked to make. Questions like:

What joist structure do you have - e.g. Timber or Metal? The appropriate type of screw is based on the answer given here.
  • If your joists are Metal, your installation would require our Self Drilling Screws.
  • If your joists are timber, a second question arises to determine whether you have Treated Pine or Hardwood. From this answer, the choice between Gal Coat Class 3 wood screw and 316 Stainless Steel (marine grade) screws can be made.

So, as you can see, based on the information you provide, we'll set you up with the correct products and accessories for your particular installation.

To get started go to How to Choose the Correct Biscuit

Using Quick Set Floor Clamps

  • It is the ideal tool to hold the boards down and onto the joists while you are fitting the screw & biscuit. It keeps the boards in place, freeing your hands up, while you fasten the screw.
  • It also stops the board from rising when they are being pulled into your set gap, prior to fixing the screw. Will pull 180 kg.

In the process of setting the clamps - Tap boards in as below.

The DM 600 will pull the decking boards together and the 450 clamp will retain the board to the joist while fixing.
